2007 LEXUS ES350 DTCs P0368, P0057
A concerned customer called us and drove into our workshop last Tuesday (19/05/2020) because his malfunction indicator lamp(M.I.L ,a.k.a Check Engine Light) was on and he was due to travel the next day.
We were happy at his awareness level because so many do not take cognisance of this light which informs the user that there is an issue in the engine that needs attention.
The scan tool reveals two major issues.
P0368: Camshaft Position Sensor 'B' Circuit High Bank 1.
We set out to check the camshaft position sensor on bank 1 of the V6 engine...this is the inner side of the engine from the front position.
We discovered that the 3 wires connecting the sensor was damaged. As a solution we repaired and wired them back in place with a wiring schematic that shows the color codes of the wire (red, black and yellow) through the connectors!!
P0057: Oxygen Sensor Heater Control Circuit Low Bank 2 Sensor 2.
This is the oxygen sensor at the lower part of the exhaust manifold at the outer part of the engine when standing in front of the vehicle. There was an open circuit in the wires to the heater part of the sensor which was corrected.
After these careful repair procedures, the scan tool was used to clear the trouble codes and the M.I.L was gone!!!
