Today's vehicle are computerised and mostly more of electrical in designs and control than mechanical.
They are designed so that it can easily communicate with the owner when something is not going right as to its working operation.
On your vehicle dashboard cluster are small messages displayed when something goes wrong within your engine. Also you will see a yellow/amber "check engine light" or "service engine soon" lights.
Every vehicle as from year model 1996 and up has an Obd2 16-pin port that makes it easy to connect to the computer of your vehicle (a.k.a ECU/ECM). And the computer tells you with accuracy what is actually wrong within your engine component.
This video shows how you can use a 16-pin Scanner Bluetooth device and an APP (Torque APP, Car scanner, etc apps) downloaded on your android smartphone or installed in your Bluetooth enabled laptop computer to help you read and analyse the diagnostic trouble codes from your vehicle's computer.
This eliminates guess works by so many mechanics and/or technicians and reduces the overall cost car owners spend at effecting repairs.
